Who We Are
The Lighthouse began in 2003, working initially with addicts and ex-offenders, and have since expanded to over 20 different projects. We now work with young people, families, parents and schools alongside a range of partner agencies to bring hope and transformation to the community. Following several years of outreach services which began in 2015, Donside Community Church was launched on Easter Sunday 2021. We are a new church plant serving Tillydrone and the wider geographical community in close partnership with The Lighthouse. As a church we have three core values, to be biblically faithful, missional engaged and relational as we seek to share the good news of Jesus. The Building Project
The size and layout of the former Library & Family Centre presents many exciting opportunities, including the creation of:
A fully resourced creche & early learning space
Two fully equipped classrooms
A large events space for church and mid-week activities
Offices and meeting space
Meeting rooms
Two counselling rooms for pastoral support work
An inviting central atrium served by a fully equipped kitchen
A two-bedroom emergency accommodation facility
A food bank & welfare area

Budget
To provide the facilities envisaged, the estimated cost of the project is £1.62Million. This will allow us to provide a facility that will be used for decades to come. We are extremely thankful to say the entire total has now been raised!
Timeline
Works were completed as planned by the end of 2023. Construction commenced in Q2 2023. A high level timeline of the project is shown below:
